A Baron vanity cabinet listed at 910mm long is also listed at 920mm long. Both numbers are correct. One is the cabinet body, the other is the same cabinet with its solid top fitted. Measure your alcove against the first figure, order the second version, and it arrives 10mm wider than the gap you left for it.

Mistake 1: measuring against the body figure
Baron's stainless steel cabinets come in two configurations. One has the basin set into the cabinet. The other has a solid top that a basin sits on, and that top overhangs the body slightly, so the overall footprint grows.

The BAA109 304 stainless steel basin cabinet is the clearest one to check, because both figures are printed in its own description: 910 x 465 x 520mm for the body, and 920 x 470 x 520mm with the solid top fitted.
Ten millimetres sounds like nothing until the cabinet is going into a tiled recess someone built to the millimetre. If your opening is 915mm, the body fits and the solid-top version does not.
Mistake 2: treating the model code as the product
A Baron code identifies a model in the range. It does not identify one listing, and it does not identify one product type. Search BAA103 in our catalogue and three live listings come back:
- BAA103 Artistic Basin, 615 x 470 x 135mm, a basin on its own
- BAA103 Basin Cabinet with insert basin, 610 x 465 x 520mm
- BAA103 Basin Cabinet with solid top and vanity basin, 620 x 470 x 520mm
Three products, one code. BAA107 and BAA108 behave the same way. So a code copied out of a quotation, or forwarded in a contractor's message, is not enough on its own. You need the configuration with it.
One detail worth noticing on those matching basins: all three are listed at 470mm deep, which is the solid-top depth, not the 465mm body depth.
Mistake 3: assuming depth carries across a range
Depth looks like the safe measurement. Every Baron cabinet from 610mm to 1010mm long is 465mm deep as a body and 470mm with a solid top, so it is tempting to plan the whole bathroom around 465.
Then there is BAA106, at 420 x 420 x 520mm. It is the compact model in the range, it is 45mm shallower than the rest, and its listing quotes no solid-top figure at all.
Check depth against the model you are actually ordering. In a small bathroom, 45mm is the difference between a door that clears the cabinet and one that catches it.
Mistake 4: reading the height as the finished height
All six Baron models here are 520mm high, with or without a solid top. That figure covers the cabinet and its top surface.
On the solid-top versions, a top-mount basin then sits on that surface and adds its own height above it. The BAA103 basin is listed at 135mm tall. So the height at the basin rim is the cabinet plus the basin, not 520mm.

Mistake 5: trusting the URL over the title
Some product URLs on our store describe the range instead of the specific version. The insert-basin BAA107 sits at a URL reading baa107-304-stainless-steel-basin-cabinet, which sounds like it could be either one. The solid-top version is at baa107-basin-cabinet-solid-top-vanity-basin.
The title on the page is the reliable field. It names the configuration outright, either "Insert Basin" or "Solid Top + Vanity Basin". Read that line before you add anything to cart.
What to measure before you order
- Measure the opening, not the wall. Take the narrowest point of the recess, at floor level and again at cabinet height, because tiled walls are rarely parallel.
- Decide your side clearance, then compare it against the solid-top figure if that is the version you want.
- Check the depth against the door swing, particularly in an HDB bathroom where the door opens inward.
- Add the basin height if the basin sits on top, and set your tap and mirror heights off that total.
- Confirm the configuration in the listing title before checkout.
