  • Spout height has to suit the basin. A top-mount basin sits higher than an inset one and needs a tall spout to clear the rim.
  • Count the water points at the basin before you choose. One point and you are buying a cold-only tap; a mixer will not run without a second.
  • Most ranges offer the same body in several finishes at different prices, so the model code is your anchor, not the colour.
