On Aalto's Enna range, every non-chrome listing sits a flat cash step above the chrome one: $18.00 to $20.25 per piece, whether the piece costs $45.00 or $198.00. Because the step is flat in dollars, it reads as 10.2% on the towel rack and 43.3% on the paper holder. Same money, four times the percentage, depending on which product page you happen to have open.
Order the six pieces together and the finish choice is a $117.00 decision.

Sorted most expensive first. The dollar step barely moves down the column. The percentage step nearly quadruples.
That is the mechanism. A flat surcharge is a small percentage of an expensive piece and a large percentage of a cheap one, so the finish premium is most obvious on the item you were treating as small change. Each product page shows you one piece, so nobody sees the column.

Every non-chrome listing for a given piece carries the same price. Matte Gold, Gold and Gun Metal all sit at the same number. Off chrome is one step up, and the finishes above it are level with each other.
Inside one range, the step still moves
The robe hook AT811 is a seventh piece that usually goes in the same order. Its chrome listing is $33.75 and its non-chrome listings are $42.75. That is a $9.00 step, roughly half the size of the step on every other piece in the range.
Add it and the seven-piece totals are $594.00 in chrome and $720.00 non-chrome, $126.00 apart.
A rule of thumb like "budget about $20 a piece for the finish" holds for six pieces and breaks on the seventh. Price the model codes.
Brushed Steel does not cover the whole set
Finish is an availability question as well as a price one. Brushed Steel listings exist for the towel rack (AT801M), double towel bar (AT802M), single towel bar (AT803M), glass shelf (AT804M) and paper holder (AT806M). No Brushed Steel face towel holder is listed, and no Brushed Steel robe hook.

Other ranges price finish differently, and chrome is not always the floor
The flat step describes this one range. It does not describe the catalogue. Three separate listings all titled "Paper Holder With Cover" show how far apart one product type sits.

The cheapest of the three carries a non-chrome finish. ATJM70 at $39.75 is the middle rung, and its listing publishes a size, which the older Enna accessory listings do not.
Inside ATJM70's own finishes the pricing is a ladder: $39.75 in chrome, $75.00 in matte black (+88.7%), $87.00 in Rose Gold and Matte Rose Gold (+118.9%).
The double paper holder moves further again. AT1104C in chrome is $111.75 and AT1104B in matte black is $195.00. That is +74.5% on one piece, against +43.3% for the same move on the Enna single paper holder.

Chrome is not the default right answer
Chrome is the cheapest listing in the Enna range on every piece. That settles the price question and nothing else.
If the tap, mixer and shower set going into the room are matte black, chrome accessories are the parts that will look wrong, and $117.00 across six pieces to match hardware already bought is a defensible spend. A finish mismatch is easy to see and expensive to undo once everything is drilled and mounted.
There is a second argument for going non-chrome once you have committed to it. Because the range prices every non-chrome finish the same, choosing between Matte Gold, Gold, Gun Metal and Brushed Steel costs nothing further. You pay the step once, then pick on looks.
The expensive version of this decision is meeting the $117.00 at checkout, after browsing on the assumption that a paper holder is a $45 item.

- Pull the chrome price and the non-chrome price for each code. The step varies within a range and between ranges.
